Sitel wins the 2008 BPO Company of the Year - ICT Awards

Mandaluyong contact center’s new salary scheme draws ire of workers

LABOR WOES hounding call center Teleperformance continue as a protest looms in its 16,000-square-meter Mandaluyong facility.

The Web site tpwatchers.tk, claiming to represent Teleperformance workers, claims that a mass resignation looms because of the Call Center Management System (CCMS), a new salary system implemented by the Utah-based firm.

"It doesn’t count what it should count. It doesn’t show the staff time. As a result, more and more agents are becoming demotivated, angry and frustrated. Their performance in the production floor is badly affected... Agents here and there are now contemplating to resign. Some even call for a mass walkout to show their dismay," the Web site said.

An employee, who asked not to be named, echoed the sentiments of the group. "The employees handling the new salary system were not properly trained, that is why there are many infractions," the employee said.

Before the new system, Teleperformance employees were getting their salaries based on the reports written by supervisors.

In a telephone interview, Teleperformance Philippines Managing Director David Rizzo said the company has "full confidence in the integrity of the data" under the new system.

"We have recently installed a new payroll system much like all other systems in other call centers with an automated system tracking log time of all of our employees’ hours, which is fully compliant with Philippine labor laws," Mr. Rizzo told BusinessWorld yesterday.

"And for anyone who is confused or does not understand the system, our team has an open-door policy to address any of our employees’ concerns," he added.

Yesterday, a massive log-off or walkout among agents was prevented when the management sat down for a dialogue.

"We told them we are not asking for additional incentives, we just want to be paid for what we have worked for. They promised to resolve it within 24 hours, but I doubt if they can do it immediately," a company source said.

I only have 10 SSS contributions since 2004?????!?!?!?!?!?!?

My heart is racing wildly. I have checked my SSS contributions only and found out that I only have 10 contributions - 2 remitted Convergys and 8 from Sitel. 

Guess what? I've worked for CVG from Oct 2004 to July 2007 and they only remitted 2 months worth of contribution?!?!?!?!

I've been with Sitel since July and the company has been religious in remitting every month.

I am pissed big time.

Adelantadong Waiter sa Claw Daddy, Shangri-La Plaza!!!

The Sister Queens of Bloopers strike again!!!

So last Friday night, Rhea and I went out for our traditional Salary Day dinner. We were planning to go to Tender Bobs Shang (for the nth time) but we decided to try out the other restos in the strip. And since we are such great fans of seafood (and upon the insistence of the waiter), we decided to try Claw Daddy's.

Okay, we were not in the mood to get down and dirty so we didn't order king crabs or lobsters - though we agreed that this is THE PLACE to use your hands to eat. I almost got ashamed of myself when I tried to put the bib on my lap, thinking it was a napkin, haha. I just realized it was a bib when I saw the konyo kids across our table ask the waiters to put theirs on.

And so, we just ordered the simple recipes on their menu - Boston Clam Chowder, Opakapaka (snapper) in Macadamia - Garlic Pumpkin - Cranberry Sauce with Potatoes and a Riverbed Prawns platter with pasta (as in pasta lang walang sauce!)

The food was great!!! Super sarap ng pumpkin sauce with Macadamia sauce - it really complemented the snapper. So what was our issue???

Sobrang sarap ng sauce na gusto mo tlaga syang ubusin - na you wanna lick the plate para walang matirang sauce! Soooo... We shared the 2 pieces of snapper meat and every now and then eh pa-demure naming sinasawsaw ang fish sa sauce...

Then... the unimaginable happened - palibhasa eh wala nang laman na snapper meat ang plate at puro sauce na lang - inassume ng waiter na we were finised na at kinuha ng waiter ang plate nang hindi man lang nagpapa-alam - kahit may laman pa na mga potatoes ang plate!!! Nagkatinginan kami ni Raina at na-shock sa mga pangyayari!!! We couldn't believe it!!! Ang sarap-sarap ng sauce kinuha na nya agad!!! May lakad ba sya at nagmamadali syang magclear ng table!?!?!?! Naging bland tuloy ang pagkain namin sa natitira pang bites ng snapper meat!!!!

Eh syempre, hindi naman kami nag-react nung kinuha nya yun kasi baka akalain ng mga taga-ibang table mga PG kami! hahaha! I soo wanted to call the manager - hahahaha - dahil na ata to sa dugong call center girl na nananalaytay sa aking katawan. Pinigilan lang ako ni Raina, baka ma-fire daw yung waiter pag nagreklamo kami. Well, I know for a fact na pag finire nila yung waiter because of a dissatisfied customer, pwede syang magsumbong sa NLRC. hahaha

So, how did this saga end? Silent Protest. I asked for my bill and asked for a Customer Satisfaction survey. hahahaha Kaka-lurky because the CSAT card was quite crumpled - halatang di nagagamit! So there, that was how I poured out my sentiments - CSAT! lol, call center na call center!

My sister and I swore never to come back, lol!!! Go Tender Bob's!!!!

Oh My Goodness, I was uber excited when I got the pop-up from my Yahoo Messenger asking me whether I was the Voice Update to be installed. OF COURSE YES!!! I've been contemplating on upgrading to 10.5 so that I can use BootCamp for a Windows partition just because Yahoo for Macs dont have this feature - but here it is!!!!!

And yeaaah, Joshua sent me a voicemail!!!!!!!!

The book of the same title, written by Greg Behrendt, is a personal favorite - thanks to my sister who fought with the guards during the autograph signing session with Mr. Behrendt at Greenbelt some years ago. The book gave me strength in times of despair lol, and though I don't need that book anymore, props to my loving Joshua, I would still recommend it to all the woman scorned and burnt - and still ask themselves, maybe he really loves me though he doesn't show it!!! lol

So, imagine my delight when Jackie "Miss Singapore" Magsumbol told me that a movie of the same title will be released come August. And take note, star-studded sya!!!!!!

I am an emotional person. I have been trying myself to keep my emotions from showing when I'm work. 

But one hint of frustration or a crumpled facial expression that I show, I get branded as hysterical, illogical, emotional. And I hate it.
