He is back for good and I am still emotional about it

I am blaming my sister for playing Take That's Back for Good and stirring up the emotions that I have inside. After a year of having Joshua in my life, I can't believe that I almost lost him at around this time last year.

The last weekend of September 2007 has got to be my most emotional weekend in recent years - that was when I thought I have lost the love of my life to another woman. I have kept quiet about it and showed no signs of anger and bitterness, only extreme loneliness and acceptance of the fact that I have almost lost my chance of finding true love. Looking back, I realized that I was in a denial state the time he asked space, and just as he was happy for me being happy with some other guy at the early stages of our friendship, I have told myself that I would have to be happy for him, too.

He is now back for good, and I can't believe how lucky and grateful I am having him!

(I started writing this with Back for Good on the background, now my sister's playing Backstreet Boy's All I Have to Give on her Mac! lol)

Trust and Randomness

It's not the distance that kills the greatest love, it's Trust.

***

Cheesy Basil Potatoes is the WAY to your friends' hearts (Thanks Nicky, Josh, Kid, Elaine and Nico for dropping by tonight!)

***

Yesterday, I heard the first Christmas song for this year. Today, I started with my Christmas decors. It is wise to start early as I will certainly be very busy when our Christmas promotion starts.

***

I am getting confirmed on the 25th of this month. YAY.

***

I wanna go to Bali or Phuket. Or Cambodia to visit the Killing Fields.

***

I miss my mother and my father.

TRUST and Randomness

It's not the distance which destroys the greatest of loves, but Trust.

A Twist on "Can you answer 30 Questions about your 1st Featured (FRIENDSTER) Friend?"

Rediscovering my Battle of the Brains roots at Murphy's Irish Bar

I used to be a party girl, going out almost three times a week spending the night away drinking (beer with a straw) and dancing. Work has stripped me of my party life, partly because I started working on a night shift, but most importantly, it was too hard for me to see my hard earned money go into waste. For the past 4 years that I have been working, I'd rather spend my weekends at home - sleeping and eating.

Last Tuesday, however, I rediscovered my night mode roots when Daddy Selwyn invited me to join their trivia team - Trivia Nights at Murphy's Irish Bar in Herrera, Makati!!! I didn't know of the game's existence till now - it has been an ongoing tradition in the bar for the past year!

I was hesitant to go since the trivia game starts at 8:30 PM and ends right before midnight (I have a fixed 6 AM shift), but my sister pushed me, urged and begged me to go since she knows I am a trivia freak (we are trivia freaks thanks to my dad). So I called up Nicky (my newest neighbor) and asked her to go with me (she LOVES Murphy's bar due to the fact that it's filled with expats haha - well, she claims that she adores the food, too!) And boy, I am sooo glad I went because I had so much fun and learned a lot of new stuff!!!

So the game goes like this. The trivia takes place in the bar's multi-function room (no smoking allowed thank God!). You sign your team up, usually composed of 4-6 members. There are 10 questions for each of the 10 categories - ranging from Arts and Music, to Philippine Locations, Geography, Hollywood trivia. The team writes the answers in a sheet of paper submitted to the judges. Of course, the team with the highest points wins.

Even Bong Barrameda and the Student Canteen and Battle of the Brains contestants are regulars! I was definitely Star Struck with Bong Barrameda - he is the author of Brain Blitz, a flash card collection of trivia questions which I used to review during my Battle of the Brains stint.

The team I joined won that night - we got 90 of the 100 questions. It was a dinner for four at a posh resto in Makati. The team is composed of a groovy film major who's in her 50's, a British expat who is like 79 years old and has been living in the Philippines for 29 years, another brilliant expat (who took an exotic Pinay date with him that night) and Daddy Sel who took care of the Science questions. Daddy Sel asked me to join them because they needed somebody who's young to take care of Current Events - music and entertainment stuff.  That is my dilemma, I dont like new songs - I am an oldie when it comes to songs and movies. Haha. :)

I was able to contribute a few answers to the team, mostly in Geography (capitals of the world haha) and I LOVED THE EXPERIENCE just because it is refreshing to learn new stuff while drinking a Stella Artois! Even Nicky enjoyed it, she has now another reason to go to Murphy's aside from taking her dates and gushing over expats. My Tuesday nights will never be the same!

GOOO TRIVIA TEAM!!!

Happy Anniversary, My Sassy Boy!!!

We never really had a date for our anniversary, though I clearly remember that right about this time this year, I have decided to let myself fall in love with you completely - I have decided to let go of any ill-feeling that I still have due to my past failed relationships - and embraced you into my life. About this time last year, I have decided on my future - my life with you - as your wife, mother to y our children and your best friend.

I believe that this month is the most trying month for us so far - we have been through a lot - misunderstandings, fights, jealousy, impatience, LOVE - the unconditional kind, understanding, trust, support, acceptance, hope - the GREAT things truly outweigh the not so good ones!

For the times that I get crazy, lose my hope, get impatient, overreact, get jealous (though rarely!), THANK YOU for putting up with me. For the times that you will get crazy, lose hope, get impatient, overreact, get jealous,  expect to get the same understanding, assurance, LOVE that you continually give me.

I AM PROUD OF YOU and continue doing great - I am here and I will support you all the way - oh yes, did I say, I will wait for you, too? :)

Next to Ultimate Stress comes Fracture

The stress that I am feeling right now is what my Structural Engineering professor was talking about (back when I was still struggling to become a Civil Engineer, note Struggling.)

To understand the strength of each material in a situation like this, we need to understand a stress-strain diagram (pictured below). Each material behaves in a similar manner when placed under a load. There is a period of elastic deformation, in which the material is stretched, but it returns to its original size when unloaded. The point at which it fails to return to the original specifications is called the yield stress. Now, in an automobile, we would probably have to assume that this yield stress would be passed at some point, so most connecting rods come out of engines a different size than when they were installed.

ERASERHEADS TOGETHER AGAIN FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember the first and my last attempt to watch Eheads in concert - 2002 UP Fair - I've waited until 3:30 or 4:30 AM but the band didn't show up. There were about to breakup that time.

Eheads songs are the best road trip, love rock  songs - EVER!!!! Kahit sino kasama mo sa roadtrip - kahit saan - pasintabi sa mga banda ngayon, pero nobody can measure up to Eraserheads!!!!!!!!

Yes, it’s confirmed: The Eraserheads are reuniting after many years of being apart, not for good but only for one show slated for Aug. 30 at the CCP Open Grounds.

According to the STAR source, all the original members (photo) are performing — Ely Buendia, Buddy Zabala, Marcus Adoro and Raimund Marasigan.

This piece of good news should make the Eraserheads fans very happy.

Said to be the ‘greatest Pinoy band,’ the Eraserheads will sing all their hit songs, including Alapaap, Toyang and Ang Huling El Bimbo.

So much water, so to speak, has flowed under the bridge since the band broke up years ago.

Ely, who survived a heart attack two years ago, has formed two bands, Mongol (which didn’t last long) and Pupil (still playing).

‘It took one big company to bring the former band members together,’ said the source who is keeping the company’s identity ‘confidential’ for the time being.

Really now, don’t the Eraserheads fans wish that the band would stay together not just for a one-night-only concert but for good...for old time’s sake?— Ricky Lo

regina as the mean-time girl...

Major LOL.

I have decided to stalk myself on Google and look what I've found - a very dramatic Xanga post back in 2005. LOL. Drama to the max!!!

***********************************

regina as the mean-time girl...

You know i am willing fight for you, you know that i do not have anything against her,i admire her with all sincerity, i do envy her because she has your love,

but i do not loathe her, if i could sum up the courage to talk to her, i would say that she is the luckiest girl in the world having been loved by you...i have patiently put up for the most part of being the rebound girl, tecnically i am, coz i am here, with you, but when that time comes that you can be with her finally,

my role ends..i have nagged about this at the start - about everything, but have i been nagging about it lately?

I have tried to let you be,listened to everything that you have to say without any hard feelings....when i was in your room, you were letting me read a great poem which reminds you of her but your head is leaning on my shoulders, and how it broke my heart and i almost cried, but i never did, i told myself i had to be strong and not showyou that i am dying inside. saying sorry because you feel that i feel i was used is not the same as saying sorry for something thatyou have done or even recognizing the fact that indeed you did something that made me feel that way.

I have stopped asking for your love because i know i will never have it either way - neither the passive nor the nagging regina will have you... and i was praying that somehow a miracle will bring me to you, although i dont believe in miracles...you just have to recognize the fact that that night, when we barely made conversation, i simply had to burst out like a big bubble...i have tried to distance myself from you, thinking that my feelings will die as i have experienced before with other guys, but i have not been successful and will never be... i have distanced myself to other guys thinking that if i let you feel that you made an impact on my life and somehow changed me for the better, you would realize your worth to me.

And i am never blaming you for all this misery, i am responsible for this, i tried to be strong and be firm and stick to everything that i tell you, but somehow i am defeated by this feeling.

Old Regina. New Regina.

Wow. It's been almost a year since I decided to get out of my comfort zone. And I am not just talking about Convergys - I am talking about my attitude of being uber temperamental and irreverent.

From an unmotivated technical support agent, I have become our account's trusted source of reports and analysis (ummm, as for being a great coach and manager, I am still getting there, I still have a lot to learn!).

From being caught up in my past and being ashamed of what I have not done, I now feel so free, able to let go of my disappointments and what-ifs.

From being somebody who has been so afraid to go out on a date and would rather spend the Friday night out with her sister, I am now preparing to spend my life with somebody who has been there for me, through my ups and through my downs.

I miss Convergys. But I do not miss my attitude of mediocrity when I used to work  there.

I miss UP. But I do not miss crying over spilled milk - over what I have done wrong.

I miss going out on dates. But I do not miss the feeling of being so lonely after my date drives me back home, that feeling that lingers until the next day no matter how hard you ignore it.

I miss my old self. But I am loving the new Regina!
